A Thankful Heart is a Joyful Heart

“Thankfulness opens your heart to My presence and your mind to My thoughts. You may still be in the same place, with the same set of circumstances, but it is as if a light has been switched on, enabling you to see from My perspective.”

“If we give thanks to God, He will give us joy in return.”

–Sarah Young, “Jesus Calling”

Sometimes it is hard to be thankful when things are tough. But when we do bring to mind the things we are thankful for despite the struggle, we will turn our minds to what is greater and positive and the Lord will bless you and bring joy to the situation.

Can you think of a time in your life that was hard and later you realized it was a blessing? Maybe your joy didn’t come right away. It came a day, a few days, weeks, or months later. Did you thank God during that hard time?

When I think of a time in my life when the blessing came later it was when I broke my arm.  I was a sophomore in college and went on a snowboarding trip. I broke my right humerus in half (no it was not funny) and I was in a cast for 3 months! I was in the middle of my semester and had to miss 2 weeks of classes! I was unable to use my right arm (I am right hand dominant) and almost had to drop out of school.  It wasn’t until a couple years later I realized what a blessing and joy this struggle was. I work in the sports medicine field and since I broke my arm, I have been able to relate to my patients on a deeper level. When I tell them my story, and encourage them, they instantly trust me and press on! It was a rough time in my life, but God is using my struggle for His glory. It was only because of Him I was able to get through it. He gave me strength! Now I am thankful for that struggle and see it as a blessing.

IMAG0182 (This is what my arm looks like now. It will forever be bent, but dont worry it’s fully functional : ) Prasie the Lord!)

I try to see the joy in circumstances and give thanks to God when I am in a hard time. It changes my whole perspective and puts my focus on Jesus. And he fills me with joy because I was obedient.

Try it! And don’t just be thankful during the thankful season we are in. Be thankful always like it says in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

If you have encountered Christ and he has been faithful, thank him. If he has given you blessings, thank him. If you love the sunset, mountains, ocean, fall colors, family, friends, thank him. He deserves our thankfulness, and in return he will fill you with JOY!

  21. You could definitely see your skills within the paintings you write. The sector hopes for more passionate writers such as you who are not afraid to say how they believe. 23. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

  24. Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

  25. I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

  26. The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

  107. Great post right here. One thing I would like to say is the fact most professional areas consider the Bachelor Degree just as the entry level requirement for an online college degree. Though Associate Diplomas are a great way to get started, completing the Bachelors starts up many doorways to various employment opportunities, there are numerous online Bachelor Course Programs available coming from institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another concern is that many brick and mortar institutions offer you Online versions of their degree programs but usually for a drastically higher amount of money than the institutions that specialize in online diploma plans.

  108. I’m not that much of a online reader to be honest but your sites really nice, keep it up! I’ll go ahead and bookmark your site to come back in the future. Cheers

  110. I have seen that expenses for online degree gurus tend to be a great value. For instance a full Bachelor’s Degree in Communication in the University of Phoenix Online consists of Sixty credits at $515/credit or $30,900. 123.

  124. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

  129. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  130. If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.

  133. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  136. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

So let me reword this…. Thanks for the meal!! But yeah, thanks for spending time to talk about this topic here on your web site.

One thing I’d like to say is the fact that most professional domains consider the Bachelors Degree like thejust like the entry level standard for an online certification. While Associate College diplomas are a great way to start, completing your current Bachelors starts up many doors to various employment goodies, there are numerous online Bachelor Diploma Programs available coming from institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another issue is that many brick and mortar institutions present Online variations of their certifications but commonly for a extensively higher price than the providers that specialize in online higher education degree programs.

  192. Thanks for the helpful posting. It is also my opinion that mesothelioma cancer has an incredibly long latency time, which means that signs and symptoms of the disease might not exactly emerge till 30 to 50 years after the initial exposure to mesothelioma. Pleural mesothelioma, that is certainly the most common type and influences the area about the lungs, will cause shortness of breath, chest muscles pains, including a persistent coughing, which may lead to coughing up blood vessels.

  193. Thanks for your helpful post. Over time, I have been able to understand that the actual symptoms of mesothelioma cancer are caused by this build up of fluid between lining on the lung and the breasts cavity. The sickness may start inside chest place and pass on to other parts of the body. Other symptoms of pleural mesothelioma include fat reduction, severe inhaling trouble, a fever, difficulty taking in food, and swelling of the face and neck areas. It ought to be noted that some people with the disease tend not to experience any kind of serious symptoms at all.

  201. I have seen plenty of useful things on your website about personal computers. However, I have got the viewpoint that netbooks are still not quite powerful more than enough to be a good choice if you frequently do things that require plenty of power, for example video editing. But for website surfing, word processing, and the majority of other frequent computer work they are fine, provided you never mind the tiny screen size. Many thanks sharing your ideas.

  202. Thanks for revealing your ideas here. The other issue is that whenever a problem arises with a computer system motherboard, persons should not consider the risk of repairing it themselves for if it is not done properly it can lead to irreparable damage to all the laptop. It is usually safe just to approach a dealer of that laptop with the repair of the motherboard. They’ve already technicians with an experience in dealing with pc motherboard problems and can make the right diagnosis and perform repairs.

  290. Sorry for the huge review, but I’m really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it’s the right choice for you.

  298. I do believe all of the ideas you have presented on your post. They’re very convincing and can certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are very short for newbies. May you please extend them a bit from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.

If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

  309. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. 311.

Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.
