Last Monday my niece Nikki posted a wonderful blog about JOY. I am so blessed to know she is certain she is where God wants her at this season of her life. Yes…I said season!
We all go through seasons of life. No… not the winter, spring, summer, fall seasons. You know, the life changes. Most of it has to do with age and where we are physically, mentally and spiritually, and some times even geographically or financially.
Since I am now in my 70’s and am living in a Christian retirement village in North Florida, I see first hand how people are dealing with major changes in their lives.
In my own life I feel I am in a season of downsizing. At this point life needs to become simpler, less complex. But I am also in a good place where my artistic and vocal ministries can be a blessing to many.
Yesterday was the official beginning of spring….at least on the calendar! Some parts of the country are still dealing with cold, ice and snow, and folks are no doubt wondering if the season of spring will ever show it’s pretty face.
Maybe you are in a dark time right now….a season that is not pleasant. Take heart….it won’t last forever. God’s grace is sufficient for you. Life is hard, but God is good. Don’t lose hope.
I always gain strength when I read God’s Word, so I’ll share this passage from Ecclesiastes 3:1 with you.
“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”
The list of times in season goes through verse 8…so I’ll just share a few with you here….
A time to be born, and a time to die.
A time to plant, and a time to harvest.
A time to weep, and a time to laugh.
A time to gain, and a time to lose.
A time to keep, and a time to throw away.
(ok..got that one!)
A time to keep silent, and a time to speak.
Whatever season you are in God will give you direction and peace….. He promised!!! Trust Him!!!
